Frank J. Lyman — Chief Executive Officer
Frank Lyman brings more than 35 years of medical device executive leadership to MGI Medical. He is a proven serial entrepreneur who has founded and led five medical device companies from inception through commercial success, raising over $25 million in debt and equity across multiple ventures and achieving lucrative exits including the acquisition of SourceTech Medical by C.R. Bard.
Most recently Frank served as CEO of Lumoptik, Inc., where he developed a software-driven fiber optic device to guide epidural procedures, raised over $6 million in funding, and conducted a successful clinical trial at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. His earlier roles include President & COO of Cytowave, LLC; President & CEO of Wellness Indicators, Inc.; Acting President & CEO of NanoDetection Technology; and senior leadership roles at Amersham Healthcare (now GE Healthcare) and Outboard Marine Corporation.
Frank's expertise spans the full medical device commercialization cycle: regulatory affairs (50+ FDA 510(k) clearances), manufacturing, sales, finance, M&A, and investor relations. He has managed international branded consumer product lines exceeding $400 million in annual revenue and built high-performing teams across all functional disciplines.
Frank holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a BS in Microbiology from Michigan State University. He also holds a patent for the RAPID Strand bioabsorbable implant device, now manufactured and marketed by GE Medical and a current standard of care for localized prostate cancer.
